Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering with Entrepreneur Launch Pad not only gives you the opportunity to share of your time and expertise but also puts you in contact with many entrepreneurs and business leaders who can help you grow as a person and a business owner. Volunteering with ELP can help you build your business and communication skills and get additional experience that can be used for future jobs and business opportunities.

Marketing
Help the marketing committee spread the word about ELP to potential members and stakeholders. The specific responsibilities will be determined by your expertise and interest and ELP’s needs and may include:
- Help develop online and printed marketing materials.
- Contribute to developing overall marketing strategy.
- Plan and implement advertising and promotions.
- Produce videos about ELP and its members.
- Write information about ELP for internal and external use.
- Design flyers, banners, and other materials.
- Represent ELP at expos and events.
- Help develop and expand ELP’s online presence.
- Other responsibilities, according to your interest and ELP’s needs
- Experience or interest in marketing
- Available to attend weekly marketing meetings (in-person or virtually)

Media Relations
- Time Commitment: 2-3 hr/wk
- # of Positions: 1-3
- Reports to: Marketing Committee
- Works with: All members & leaders as needed
- Work with local media outlets to encourage coverage of ELP events, member success stories, and other information.
- Write press releases and distribute them to media outlets.
- Work with site leaders to find ELP members with good stories.
- Interview ELP members and leaders and write success stories for publication in media and on the ELP website.
- Work with other ELP volunteers to create video, images, and stories to tell the story of ELP and its members.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written (email, press releases
- Willing to talk to people – cold calls to media, interviews of ELP members, etc.

School Liaison
- Time Commitment: 1-2 hr/wk

- Reports to: Marketing Committee
- Works with: Marketing Committee, site leaders, volunteer coordinator
- Work with professors, staff, and students to spread the word about ELP at local colleges and universities
- Attend meetings for business-related clubs and organizations
- Make presentations at club meetings and classes
- Work with ELP volunteer coordinator and college volunteer departments to recruit college students to participate as volunteers
- Willingness to talk to professors, students, and staff at local colleges and universities
- Good public speaker
- Connections at local schools helpful
- Experience with college-level clubs, departments, and organizations helpful
Graphic Designer
- Time Commitment: 3-5 hr/wk
- # of Positions: 1-3
- Reports to: Marketing Committee
- Works with: all positions as needed
- Create flyers, business cards, brochures, and other materials as needed for a variety of purposes
- Adhere to and build upon the existing brand image (logo, colors, style, etc.)
- Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Sound understanding of design principles
- Ability to understand the goals of various materials and create layout and content to effectively meet those goals

Website Assistant

Blog Editor
- Time Commitment: 1-3 hr/wk

- Create and implement a schedule of weekly blog posts on ELP’s blog
- Write blog articles about relevant topics
- Find guest bloggers as needed
- Establish categories and tags to organize the blog
- Work with the webmaster and social media coordinator to publicize blog posts

Blog Writer

- Write periodic blog posts for the ELP blog
- Work with the blog editor to determine topics and frequency of blog articles
- Work with events committee and site leaders to stay updated on events and happenings.
- Work with social media coordinator and blog editor to bring traffic to the ELP blog and website through various social media platforms and other means.

Operations
Membership Development
- Time Commitment: 3 hrs/wk (including attending the ELP meetings)

- Reports to: Membership Coordinator
- Works with: Site Leader, Newsletter Editor, Marketing Committee
- Help develop systems and reports to track attendance
- Help identify and resolve barriers to attendance and participation
- Track and report on attendance for designated site(s)
- Develop communication materials to help encourage attendance and participation

- Available to attend ELP meetings at designated site(s)

Welcome Specialist
- Time Commitment: 3 hrs/wk (including attending the ELP meetings)

- Reports to: Membership Coordinator
- Works with: Site Leader, Newsletter Editor, Marketing Committee
- Attend weekly ELP meetings and arrive 15-20 minutes early
- Greet and welcome new members
- Collect new members’ contact information
- Notify site leaders of new members information
- Make sure new members are added to the newsletter mailing list
- Help develop and distribute orientation materials (printed and email)

Speaker Coordinator
- Time Commitment: 1-2 hrs/wk

- Reports to: Operations Committee
- Works with: Site leaders (all sites)
- Help site leaders find speakers (the site leaders will actually schedule the speakers; the speaker coordinator will help the site leaders build and maintain a list of potential speakers)
- Set up systems to track speaker information
- Find speaker leads and enter them in potential speaker list and/or pass their information on to site leaders
- Develop evaluation systems as needed
- Willingness to cold call potential speakers and follow up on leads from others
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid understanding of topics and issues of interest to ELP members
- Experience contacting speakers and coordinating workshops, conferences, etc. helpful
Volunteer Coordinator
- Time Commitment: 5-10 hrs/mo

- Reports to: Operations Committee
- Works with: All positions
- Help write and update volunteer descriptions
- Maintain contact with all current volunteers and help them fulfill their responsibilities
- Work with site leaders, school liaison, and other positions to recruit new volunteers
- Work with appropriate committees to train volunteers
- Develop tracking and performance systems as needed

Site Leader
- Time Commitment: 3-5 hrs/wk

The site leader is responsible for coordinating high-quality site meetings to help ELP members learn how to start and grow their businesses. Below is a list of some of the leader’s responsibilities, but this list is not exhaustive; the site leader is responsible for the quality of meetings and the success and satisfaction of the members in their site. The site leader may delegate some of these responsibilities to assistants or other volunteers, but it is their responsibility to get them done.
- Find and schedule speakers for site meetings
- Coordinate member presentations, speakers, workshops, round tables, discussions, and other activities for site meetings
- Create and follow an agenda for each meeting
- Facilitate the activities at each meeting
- Help all ELP members in your site feel welcome and get involved
- Add information about upcoming meetings to the website calendar at least one week in advance
- Help new members feel welcome
- Find out what site members need and plan presentations and activities to meet those needs
- Help track and report attendance

Assistant Site Leader

Assist the site leader helps coordinate and run site meetings. Specific division of responsibilities may vary by site. See site leader description for a list of responsibilities.

Fundraising & Development
Fundraising Assistant
